Hmm, I'm not feeling this. The rakugo don't particularly interest me and I'm pretty meh about Mameda's character, I'm not sure if I'll give this series another episode or not.

I will follow it for a bit. I don't think it will turn out to be good but at least it's not boring either. And this season doesn't seem to have any other shows on Friday somehow.

When you exclude the sequels, with the exception of Chainsaw Man, the 2nd cour of SpyXFamily, Blue Lock, Do It Yourself, Akiba Maid War, and I'd say Bocchi the Rock, there's not a lot worth discussing.
That's the problem with anime this year, apart from sequels, there's not a lot worth mentioning. There's some good shows, sure, but anime that define 2022, not a lot.

Winter season apart from Dress Up Darling and a handful of shows suck. Spring was a mixed bag; for every SpyXFamily, Ao Ashi, Love After World Domination, and Summertime Render, we have a Shikimori, Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn, and Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road. Plus anime such as Aharen-san, Deaimon and Kunoichi Tsubaki fell flat due to competition. Summer wasn't that great, like it's better than Winter 2022, but not as good as Spring 2022. And like the spring, this season is also a mixed bag, except the fall has more to offer than the spring.

yep you are right, if i may add, it doesn't look better for the future, all original unique manga(talking about Manga that been there for at least 10years) have had at least 1 animation. As the boarder opened up, we are moving now into the world of Manhwa, unfortunately transition is very slow probably due to copyrighting. And in the mean time animators need to be fed, they just go with animating anything Shounen Jump weekly scores higher than average or some baby shows to fill the gap. (low pain more gain)

The whole last season wasn't anything to write home about, except for "Chimimo", "Shadow House S2" (which, ironically, aired on Friday), "Teppen!...!" and "Lycoris Recoil".

Oh right, there was "Isekai Uncle" too. Maybe.

It ended on September 21th: now it's autumn time.

pretty uneventful friday so far.

And on top of that, the production side of things feel bland. It's like I'm watching a Powerpoint presentation, and the artstyle feels like a mid to late 2000s anime at best and bland at worst.

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun also has a 2000s feel to it in its artstyle as well, but the difference is, the demon world in Iruma-kun feels lived in, like I'm in a whole new world, from Iruma's house, Cutthroat Valley, the demon academy, the forest Clara and her family lives in, the area where the Harvest Festival will take place in, etc.

This is just your average Japanese city in (I think) 1920s Japan with not much variety with a bit of the forest Mameda lives in. Also, is it just me or does Bunko come off as condenscending?

Rakugo is funny for japanese (voice/words used double meaning/same pronunciation but different kanji etc...), if you are not japanese normal you are not interest.

It was a fun enough episode with out lil Tanuki getting singed by Fox fire and fighting a cat

It's Sentai Studios and HiDive TV, they are mostly fan subbed and just as bad as Funi-Roll
